The environmental, climatic and behavioural changes we have seen in recent years have encouraged the emergence of many infectious diseases. Combating these diseases requires :
- knowledge of the ecology of the micro-organisms involved and their mode of transmission,
- and by identifying new therapeutic targets that could result from a better understanding of their physiology and pathogenic mechanisms.
The unit's scientific project focuses on fungal respiratory infections during cystic fibrosis and transplantation. A ‘One Health’ approach is also being developed in collaboration with ONIRIS in Nantes.
